ARNOLD, Mo. (KMOV.com) — The man accused of shooting two officers in Arnold, Missouri Friday.when they responded to a disturbance call has been charged. The Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s office has charged 52-year-old Noel Christner Kuebler Jr. of Arnold with three counts of assault on a law enforcement officer, three counts of armed criminal action and one count of felony resisting arrest. He is currently being held in the Jefferson County Jail on a $750,000 cash-only bond. Witnesses say a man holding a shotgun was threatening to shoot someone in the mobile home park in the 2300 block of Plaza Drive. According to police accounts, Kuebler was a resident of the park. “I was on the phone with the neighbor and there was an officer by her car, you know, crouching for a shield,” said Stephanie Lucas, a neighbor in the area. “He told me stay indoors and away from the windows.” Authorities received the disturbance call just before 2:30 p.m. and three patrol cars responded to a residence in the 2100 block of Plaza Drive. Upon arrival officers came in contact with Kuebler, who was hiding in a bush near the residence with at shotgun. Kuebler immediately fired two rounds at the officers. The buckshot from the blast struck two of the officers in the face, shoulder, and hand. The officers never returned fire on the Kuebler. Both officers, Corp. Jason Gorenstein and Officer John Palme, were taken to an area hospital with non life-threatening injuries. They have since been released from the hospital. However, the Kuebler was taken into custody without any police weapons being discharged. The incident prompted a lockdown of the Fox C 6 school campus around 3 p.m., which was lifted 30 minutes later.
