The guild for Moors (Society for carrots) is one of the 13 companies of the city of Bern and thus by the Constitution of the canton of Bern guaranteed public corporation. It is a civil corporation within the meaning of the Bernese community legislation and under the supervision of the cantonal authorities. As a personal body, it has no territory of its own and is taxable. It covers all indoor and Burger Burger of Bern, who have the right guild for so-called Ethiopians. Currently, the guild has about 400 members. The guild for so-called Ethiopians appear in the sources for the first time in 1383 and included the tailors, drapers and Tuchscherer.
